Upholding its commitment to enhance the lives of Sri Lankan communities, the nation’s Truly Sri Lankan Bank, Pan Asia Bank is supporting 6 under-served schools in rural areas and about 585 students in the ‘Bring a Smile’ project. This is launched with the Marketing Alumni Association of Sri Jayewardenepura University as the Strategic CSR partner. Project ‘Bring a Smile’ aims to uplift the quality of education in children of needy schools and providing necessary study equipment ensure these children will be sufficiently equipped to be future ready.
The Pan Asia Bank team visited all six schools which were earmarked to receive support through the project: Madaperumagama Vidyalaya, Kekirawa; Sumana Vidyalaya, Palugas Wewa; Kumbuka Primary School Habarana; Pusdiwul Wewa Vidyalaya Galen Bindunu Wewa; Weragala Vidyalaya Palugas Wewa and Kirimetiyawa Gamini Vidyalaya Kekirawa. The students, teachers, parents and community welcomed the team with great enthusiasm and many cultural entertainment acts in the spirit of true Sri Lankan hospitality. Everyone appreciated the Bank’s effort as this contribution will ensure the continuation of studies for all 585 students.
